No. 3 Notre Dame women’s basketball hosts No. 17 Georgia Tech tonight at Purcell Pavilion beginning at 6 p.m.
Notre Dame (14-2, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) played its first game on Sunday against Clemson without the services of leading scorer Hannah Hidalgo, who sat on the bench with a boot on her right foot. Hidalgo turned her ankle at the end of Notre Dame’s win over Wake Forest last Thursday. Without Hidalgo (25.7 ppg), Clemson was able to hold the Irish to nearly 20 points below their scoring average (87.8) in the 67-58 Notre Dame victory.
Per media availability on Wednesday, Irish coach Niele Ivey fully expects Hidalgo to play tonight.
Georgia Tech entered last week as one of the nation’s unbeaten teams before dropping a double overtime loss (105-94) to Virginia Tech last Thursday and then falling to Louisville (69-60) on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets (15-2, 3-2) will seriously be looking to get back into their winning ways.
