The Nebraska women’s basketball team hit the East Coast on Sunday afternoon to clash with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Despite finishing under 70 points for the seventh time this season, the Huskers delivered another win following a close battle.
Nebraska entered the fourth quarter tied at 48 with the Scarlet Knights but pulled away to get the win. Freshman Britt Prince scored a career-high 24 points, including 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Huskers win.
Nebraska finished 25-of-61 from the floor, while Rutgers shot 22-of-62. The Huskers also landed 16-of-25 from the free-throw line. The Scarlet Knights shot 12-of-18. Nebraska did outrebound Rutgers in the game 49-32.
Alexis Markowski produced 47th of her career, scoring 14 points and hauling in 14 rebounds. Jessica Petrie scored 12 points in the win and snatched a career-high nine rebounds.
The Huskers improve to 13-4 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. They remain on the road, traveling west to face the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
