PASADENA, Calif. — Ohio State remains near full strength as it meets Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday.

Offensive linemen Seth McLaughlin and Josh Simmons are the Buckeyes’ only starters or rotational players listed as out on their availability report ahead of the College Football Playoff quarterfinal.

Both linemen suffered season-ending injuries during the regular season with McLaughlin tearing an Achilles tendon in November and Simmons injuring a knee in October.

During a New Year’s Eve news conference, Day suggested that the Buckeyes had not suffered any setbacks in practices since they opened the playoff on Dec. 21 with a rout of Tennessee.

“All things considered, we’re as healthy and strong as fresh as we’ve been all season,” Day said.

The lone addition to the unavailable list was Brenten Jones, a junior safety who has been a contributor on special teams, lining up on kickoff and punt coverage and punt return.

Walk-ons TC Caffey, a running back, and Mason Maggs, a quarterback remain out.
