MADISON – A fresh start could be just what Tyreese Fearbry needs.
The 6-foot-5, 242-pound outside linebacker was a four-star prospect coming out high school in 2022, but in three seasons at Kentucky his impact was modest.
A move to the Big Ten could change that.
Fearbry announced on X his commitment to the Badgers on Sunday. The redshirt sophomore has two years of eligibility remaining.
“New beginnings,” he wrote.
Fearbry played in 11 of 12 games this season for the Wildcats and finished with 14 tackles. He posted a season-high five stops plus a quarterback hurry against Texas.
On the depth chart he was listed as a co-starter at the beginning of the season for the Wildcats.
Counting his redshirt season, Fearbry played in 28 games and made 21 tackles.
At Wisconsin he’ll be part of a revamped defensive front that has seen a handful of additions to through the portal. Most of those players have been interior players.
Fearbry, along with Louisville transfer Mason Reiger, has played mostly on the edge and will be asked to help beef up the Badgers pass rush.
