Drake women’s basketball wins non-conference game at St. Thomas (Minn.)

Katie Dinnebier, shown during Drake’s preseason media day, scored 32 points to lead the Bulldogs in the victory over St. Thomas.

The Drake women’s basketball team defeated St. Thomas 92-81 on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-5 with the non-conference victory. St. Thomas fell to 7-5.

Katie Dinnebier led Drake with 32 points. Anna Miller grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Dinnebier had a team-high 10 assists.

Miller (22 points), Shannon Fornshell (15) and Courtney Becker also scored in double figures for Drake, which shot 62 percent from the field and had a 32-20 rebounding advantage.

Jade Hill led St. Thomas with 24 points.

Drake opens Missouri Valley Conference play on Dec. 29 at Evansville.
