The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added to their wide receiver room via the transfer portal.

On Thursday, California Golden Bears wide receiver Nyziah Hunter committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The redshirt freshman is coming off a strong season for the Golden Bears in which he posted 40 receptions for 578 yards and five touchdowns.

Hunter was a near consensus four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting cycle out of Salinas High School in Salinas, California. He chose Cal over offers from Army, Boise State, BYU, Idaho, UMass, Oregon State, and Washington.

He is now ranked as one of the top players available in the transfer portal this offseason including No. 22 overall by Rivals.

Hunter is the first transfer portal wide receiver to commit to the Huskers this portal window, helping replace a trio of transfer portal entrants in Malachi Coleman, Isaiah McMorris, and Dae’vonn Hall.
