Arkansas basketball avoided a disaster Tuesday night.
Miami, which entered the matchup on a four game losing streak and coming off a home loss to Charleston Southern, led by double digits in the first half and held a seven-point advantage with 7:06 remaining. It looked like the Razorbacks were spiraling to a third loss in as many games against Power Four competition.

Instead, Arkansas (6-2) rallied for a 76-73 victory. The Hogs closed the game on a 10-2 run to steal the win and avoid an 0-3 start against Power Four opposition this season.
Here are four observations from the Razorbacks win over Miami.
Boogie Fland saves the day
Fland has experienced a sterling start to his collegiate career, but the signature moment for the freshman arrived Tuesday night.
Fland scored seven points in the final two minutes, including a 3-pointer with 1:47 remaining that gave Arkansas its first lead at 74-71. After a Nigel Pack basket cut it to one, Fland came down the floor and made a mid-range jumper on the ensuing possession to restore the lead to three points.
Fland finished the night as Arkansas’ leading scorer with 18 points and six assists. He made four 3-pointers and asserted himself as the go-to option with the game on the line.
Johnell Daivs has his best game
It’s been a slow start to Davis’ career as a Razorback, but he turned the tide on this game and perhaps his season Tuesday night.
The Florida Atlantic transfer scored 11 of his 12 points in the second half, making three 3-pointers. He hit a number of big shots during the Arkansas rally, keeping the score close until Fland brought the Razorbacks home.
Miami sags off Adou Thiero
Thiero was a revelation for Arkansas through the first seven games, but the Hurricanes dared the junior forward to shoot jumpers. He took two early 3s and settled for shots throughout the first half.
By the end of the night, Arkansas’ leading scorer had seven points on 3-of-10 shooting.
Jonas Aidoo continues to improve
Aidoo missed most of the preseason and has averaged just eight minutes per game as he continues to recover from a nagging injury.
Against Miami, Aidoo played 10 minutes in the first half, started the second half and finished the night with 12 minutes. There’s some rust, but Aidoo is starting to contribute on both ends of the floor. He finished with four points and two rebounds.
