The Salisbury University Football team (12-1) lost to Mount Union (13-0) 38-17 at home on Saturday in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. The loss was Salisbury’s first loss of the season, and ends the Sea Gulls postseason run.
Salisbury got off to a 7-0 lead, scoring on its second drive of the game with a Mason Fisher touchdown. But Mount Union would grab a 21-10 lead heading into halftime with two touchdown passes from quarterback TJ Deshields to Tyler Echeverry and Drew Sims, and another touchdown run from Echeverry right before halftime.

Salisbury would attempt to mount a comeback in the second half, but two fumbles and two failed fourth down conversions on offense stalled momentum for the Sea Gulls in the third quarter, while Mount Union continued to extend its lead and close in on a victory.
Salisbury ends the season with another NJAC Championship, its sixth since 2015, and its first NCAA Quarterfinals appearance since 2019. Mount Union advances to face Johns Hopkins in the Division III Semifinals next week.
