The Kansas State women’s basketball team kept rolling on the court, but did not make any headway Tuesday in the lates USA Today Sports Coaches Poll, remaining at No. 12 for a third straight week.
The Wildcats (11-1), play host to New Mexico State (6-4) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bramlage Coliseum in their final tune-up before starting Big 12 play at home against Cincinnati on Sunday.
In its only game in the past week, K-State used a big second half to knock off Middle Tennessee State at the Bill Snyder Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Wildcats are the highest ranked of five Big 12 teams in the Top 25, followed by TCU (10-1) at No. 13, West Virginia (10-1) at No. 14, Baylor (9-2) at No. 21 and Iowa State (9-3) at No. 23.
The Wildcats also remained the same in The Associated Press poll at No. 13, one spot behind TCU.
Center Ayoka Lee leads five Wildcats’ double-figure scorers for Kansas State, averaging 16.4 points to go with 5.9 rebounds, while point guard Serena Sundell adds 12.3 points and 6.8 assists, Taryn Sides 11.4 points off the bench, Zyanna Walker 10.5 points and 5.0 assists, and Jaelyn Glenn 10.2 points. Kennedy Taylor leads the Wildcats in rebounding with 6.4 to go with 9.0 points.
