His first resulted in a no contest against Aori Qileng in February, and the second was a unanimous decision win over John Castañeda. … Yanez (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will look to keep his momentum going after returning to the win column in May by stopping Vinicius Salvador in the opening round. The result was a rebound from a rough 2023, where Yanez lost back-to-back fights to end a nine-fight winning streak.

Filling out the main card is a potential bantamweight banger between Marcos and Yanez.
It’s nice to see a solid 135-pound fight not being buried on the prelims. It’s also nice because this slot, coupled with Yanez’s name, will give Marcos a chance to show his skills to more UFC fans.
That said, if Marcos isn’t able to establish his kicking presence early and often (particularly to the legs), then I suspect that Yanez will make exchanges both competitive and exciting.
This fight could either way, but I’ll side with Yanez’s more eye-catching offense to win the judges over in a tight decision that goes the American’s way.
