COLLEGE BASKETBALL: UTPB defeats OCU off Word’s game-winning 3-pointer

Dec. 13—EDMOND, Okla. — The UTPB men’s basketball team escaped with an 80-77 road victory against Oklahoma Christian, thanks to a last-second 3-pointer by Freddie Word.

Word’s game-winning shot with just 0.4 seconds left helped the Falcons improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in Lone Star Conference.

Oklahoma Christian fell to 3-5, 0-3.

Word had 19 points to lead the Falcons while Taylor Sharrod had 18 and Dario Domingos finished with 17.

UTPB will next face Cameron University at 3 p.m. in Lawton, Okla.
